Quote of the Day 20080413

“Many of us spend half our time wishing for things we could have if we didn’t spend half our time wishing.” — Alexander Woollcott 1887 – 1943, Critic and Commentator for The New Yorker magazine

This quote very simply means to stop sitting around and take action. Right now there are some IBM commercials the theme of which is “Stop Talking. Start Doing.” Same principle. It’s not enough to sit around dreaming and visualizing, though that is important. You’ve got to take concrete action towards those dreams. One of my mentors, Jerry Clark, says on his CD Murphy’s Committee that “with thought what you want is brought to you, but with action it is received!” Let’s take this to heart and act.
